We keep
within the goal's of PADI and then some. Under the standards of
PADI, a single Instructor can have a ratio of 8 students to
1 instructor. Our ratio is set at 4-6 students to 1 instructor. We
prefer to teach on a Private or Semi private basis. This offers
you, the student, the best opportunity to gain your Diver
Certification and receive more one on one instruction.

The purpose of the
Open Water Diver course is to provide students with the elemental
knowledge and skills they need to safely gain experience in the
diving environment and , ultimately, to dive independently. The
course is performance based and designed to take students through
simple to complex learning objectives. Performance based means
that students must satisfactorily complete the academic and water
skills requirements for each session before progressing to the
next session. Initial open water training phases are based on
skill progression and on experience at gradually increasing
depths. All included skills are designed to be logical, realistic
and to apply to practical diving situations.
Students age 10 to 15 will receive a Junior Open Water Diver
Certification. Junior Open Water Divers must meet all requirements
of Open Water Diver Certification. A Junior Open Water Diver is
qualified to dive only when accompanied by another certified diver
who is of legal age. Legal age is defined as an individual who is
at least 18 years of age, unless a law in the area defines an
older age; in this case, the law becomes the guideline.

broaden their awareness of the environment and their
capabilities as divers.

Open Water Divers, or individuals having an equivalent
rating. |

The PADI Rescue
Diver course is an important and crucial step in expanding
the diver's knowledge and experience beyond a purely
recreational level. This PADI Rescue diver rating is a
prerequisite for all PADI leadership training, Divemaster,
Assistant Instructor, and Open Water Scuba Instructor. The
course will be demanding, though realistic in its conduct,
content and approach. Interaction, discussion, variety and
flexibility will be stressed during skills training.
Classroom instruction will stress the application of
information to the particular needs of students and varying
environments.
Through this course, you the student will come to appreciate
and understand the importance such training has on the
safety of others and on the diving industry as a whole.
Although the course is designed to be enjoyable, the nature
and context in such training must be taken quite serious.
And as in training in similar fields of emergency care, the
primary objective of this course is to prevent the need for
use of rescue skills.!

Prerequisites:
To qualify for
PADI Rescue Diver training, and individual must:
-
Be certified as
a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or an equivalent rating.
This prerequisite is primarily based on individual
competency in various aspects of diving. This competency
level within the PADI standard is defined by the PADI
Advanced Open Water Diver certification. Therefore, the term
equivalency as stated in this standard is defined as proof
of certification beyond the entry level; and proof of a
minimum 20 logged dives documenting experience in the
following areas:
-
Night dives
-
Deep Dives
-
Advanced
Navigation
-
Be 15 years of
age or older
|

Divemaster is
the first leadership and professional level in the PADI
progression. The rating denotes an individual
who:
-
Has a high level
of personal diving skill
-
Has instructor
level knowledge of diving theory
-
Has had
significant training to know how to assist an instructor
during training activities
-
Has had
significant training to instruct the Skin Diver course.
-
Is able to
assume a role of responsibility for the welfare of other
certified divers in his/her charge.
The Divemaster

certification they are now in the ranks of the Professional
diver. This responsibility is never ending. Once a Divemaster,
your always a Divemaster. The responsibility doesn't stop
because the Divemaster is on vacation.
